Children's Health Initiative addresses maternal health, child health and childhood obesity in Crittenden County. |
Outcomes
- Developed and implemented “Take 10” and “Hungry Red Planet” curricula in the West Memphis School District to promote healthier eating habits.

Conducted parenting classes at the Crittenden County Detention Center and at the Delta Area Health Education Center where a referral system was set up.

Implemented the Lung Association’s “Open Airways” Program at various Head Start locations and area schools in West Memphis.
Lives Affected
These programs have impacted 2,766 attendees.
Cost Effectiveness
Was able to keep program costs to $10.85 per participant.
