Project Description: |
|
Pharmacy Assistance program helps patients obtain low-cost or free medications and are taught proper medication usage. |
Outcomes
- Increased patient enrollment in the program from 430 to 665, or 54 percent.
-
Increased the number of drug companies involved from 21 to 30 with software that gets updates from those companies.
-
Incorporated data tracking for evaluation/analysis of program success.
Lives Affected
665 patients were served with a total of 3,844 prescriptions obtained.
Cost Effectiveness
Assuming each patient received roughly three medications over the course of the year, with an average annual cost of $885 per medication, it’s estimated that these patients saved over $500,000 in normal prescription costs.
