Serving the Delta region, the program initiates a car seat safety campaign, creates a parent resource library and provides training. |
Outcomes
- Increased the number of special needs children who receive these services.
-
Enhanced the ability of parents and guardians to promote the health and development of their children.
-
Increased the capacity of child care centers to provide activities that promote health and development of children, with or without special needs.
Lives Affected
105 children received direct services and 226 participants in the region received educational material about child health, development and safety.
Cost Effectiveness
By partnering with existing organizations, the program was able to utilize the grant money to the maximum benefit while keeping costs down. The Grand Prairie and Wellness Expo provided an ideal forum through which to screen children and distribute important health and nutrition information.
