Project Description: |
|
PACES Coming Alongside program serves pregnant or parenting adolescent women. |
Outcomes
- Full-time case manger, part-time Latina case manager and part-time parent educator hired to counsel pregnant or parenting adolescent women, reducing preterm births.
Lives Affected
35 pregnant or parenting individuals served.
33 children served.
Cost Effectiveness
Studies have shown that the provision of prenatal care, case management, and parent education classes is more cost-effective than paying for care of a single preterm infant in an intensive care setting or working with the result of a child suffering abuse or neglect. At just a few hundred dollars per participant for an entire year, we feel that Paces program is very cost-effective.
