WE3 project provides mid-life and older women in Saline, Hot Spring, Garland and Montgomery counties with a fitness and nutrition education program. |
Outcomes
- 61 percent of participants reported improved eating habits since beginning the program.

Before program, 25 percent reported exercise 3+ times/week; after program, 58 percent reported exercise 3+ times/week.

71 percent exercised at least 30 minutes on most days.

73 percent have increased exercise since starting the program.
Lives Affected
251 individuals, primarily senior women, participated in 1,458 exercise sessions conducted in 15 locations in four counties.
Cost Effectiveness
Materials and supplies provided to each site are one-time expenses that will be used to support the program for several years. With volunteer time as a chief resource, the value of time contributed in 2007 ($37,573) exceeds the total budget of the grant ($21,766).
